Statement by Mark Tomaszewski

President of Ellwood City Community Health Foundation

The Ellwood City Community Health Foundation has received final approval from the courts to proceed as a private foundation.  The Board of the Foundation looks forward to funding activities that will enhance the quality of health for the community.  Annually, the Foundation will be accepting grant requests from charitable organizations.  Each grant will be reviewed and evaluated on its merits in determining the impact the grant will have on the health of the community.  In addition to awarding grants, the Foundation will be issuing scholarships to individuals pursuing a career in the medical field.

The Foundation Board is grateful to past donors who contributed to enhance the health of the community with direct donations to The Ellwood City Hospital.  When the Hospital was sold, the balance of these donations was transferred to Ellwood City Community Health Foundation.  These funds and future donations will be used for the health and well-being of the citizens living in Ellwood City and surrounding communities.
